If you’re a frequent airline traveler, then having at least one solid airline credit card in your wallet isn’t a nice luxury, it’s a necessity.

Airline credit cards were birthed from “frequent flyer” programs, arguably the original rewards program. They allow you to quickly build up “miles” or “points” with the airline you’re most loyal to, and quickly earn upgrades and free flights. As a cardholder, you also get to enjoy numerous perks and discounts that come with membership.

But which of the airline credit cards are the easiest to be approved for?

It starts with your credit history. It doesn’t have to be pristine but it shouldn’t be on life-support, either. If you have a “Good” or better credit rating (usually a score of 670 or higher), you have a good chance for approval. The higher your score, the better your chances. If your rating is “Fair” or below (under 670), you’re going to want to hold off applying until you can raise your score.

A quick side note: If you are planning to apply for a card issued by Chase, you’ll want to be clear on their 5/24 policy. That is, they will reject your application if you have been issued five cards within the past 24 months, regardless of your credit score.

But ease of acquisition goes well beyond your credit score. You also need to consider the ease of the application process, as well as an easy to navigate website and the ability to easily connect and interact with customer service. If you have questions while applying, you want to be able to get them answered quickly.

Fortunately, our editors have done the leg work for you and have compiled the following list of the easiest airline credit cards to acquire.
