- one point per dollar spent on all other purchases.
American Express spokesperson Christopher Fred told reporters that his company's new Charge Card appeals to frequent travelers. "It offers three points on airfare purchases," Fred said, "more than airline rewards cards typically offer, and Card members earn triple points on all airfare purchases, not just with one airline." High volume users can even earn up to 15,000 bonus Membership Rewards points for reaching annual spending thresholds. New Premier Rewards Gold Card accounts carry no fee for the first year of membership, with a $175 annual fee after that.
