Earn bonus miles with Hotels.com with your Venture or VentureOne card

It just got easier to rack up miles with your Capital One® Venture® Rewards Credit Card or Capital One® VentureOne® Rewards Credit Card.

That's because Capital One today announced a new partnership with Hotels.com through which cardholders will earn 10 miles per $1 spent when they book stays through Hotels.com/Venture on their Capital One® Venture® Rewards Credit Card or Capital One® VentureOne® Rewards Credit Card through Jan. 31, 2020. That means hotel, resort or vacation rentals booked through the site could quickly turn into hundreds or even thousands of reward miles.

Once you earn those miles, you can redeem them as you would any other Venture® or VentureOne® miles for any flight, hotel stay or rideshare purchase without worrying about blackout dates or brand loyalty.

Furthermore, this mega miles opportunity comes alongside the existing Hotels.com rewards program in which you earn your 11th night free after staying 10 nights – either on a single trip or spread out over multiple trips – booked through Hotels.com.

Let's take a look at the basics of the two cards participating in the promotion:

Why We Like This Card: Simplicity is the name of the game here. With a simple rewards-earning structure, plus no blackout dates or brand loyalty to worry about, you'll be off on your next reward vacation in no time with this card.

The Bonus: Earn 50,000 bonus miles (worth up to $500 in travel) when you spend $3,000 in the first three months of card membership.

Annual Fee: $0 intro for first year; $95 after that.

Foreign Transaction Fees: None

Rewards Rate: Earn two miles per $1 spent on every purchase, every day. Yes, that's double miles no matter where you shop or what you buy, and that means your rewards can add up quickly even if you're just using your card for everyday purchases. Add in the Hotels.com/Venture promo of 10 times the miles per $1 spent and you have a pretty sweet travel rewards card.

Credit Needed: Excellent, Good

Why We Like This Card: Like its big brother above, this card offers a simple way to rack up rewards; however, this one does it without charging an annual fee.

The Bonus: Earn 20,000 bonus miles (worth up to $200 in travel) when you spend $1,000 in the first three months of card membership.

Annual Fee: $0

Foreign Transaction Fees: None

Rewards Rate: Earn 1.25 miles per $1 spent on every purchase, every day. It's a slightly lower rewards earning rate, but there's no annual fee to offset and you're still eligible for that 10 times the rewards with Hotels.com/Venture. Basically, if you are a regular credit card user, you can probably offset the annual fee of the Capital One® Venture® Rewards Credit Card, but if you just want to use a card sometimes and know you're earning rewards when you do, this no-annual-fee option might be a better bet.

Credit Needed: Excellent, Good

It's starting to look like a good time to plan your Spring Break getaway or even summer vacation, isn't it?

Consider this scenario:

You need to book a Spring Break hotel stay and you find a sweet deal on a beachfront room at $130 per night for five nights. Done. Booked. You've racked up 6,500 Venture® miles toward your next reward redemption AND you're five nights into the 10 you'll need to earn a free night through Hotels.com.

Remember, too, that both the Capital One® Venture® Rewards Credit Card and the Capital One® VentureOne® Rewards Credit Card will allow you to take advantage of this partnership with Hotels.com, which means that either one you choose is still going to earn 10 times the miles for each $1 you spend booking a stay through Hotels.com/Venture. The big difference is the annual fee as well as the rewards earning rate on all your other purchases. Either choice is a good one.

IMPORTANT NOTES: To take advantage, head to Hotels.com/Venture and make sure to pay for your hotel at the time of the booking (PayPal payments are not eligible for the 10 miles per $1 promotion, nor are bookings in which you pay at the property). The promo is also not available via the Hotels.com mobile app.
