Question: What is the best all-around credit card company?
The answer to this question often lies within the eye of the beholder. Well, in this case, the cardholder. If you're happy with your credit card issuer, you're likely to sing their praises.
But a recent poll by J.D. Power and Associates says that consumers rated American Express as the credit card company they're most satisfied with. Some of these good feelings likely have something to do with American Express's robust rewards programs. But American Express won for the fourth year in a row, so that says a lot for the company and their customer service. Discover Financial Services, which issues the Discover credit cards, came in second.
The poll also showed that consumers who keep revolving balances are feeling more empowered these days. Most likely, this is due to the Credit CARD Act of 2009, which required card issuers to be more transparent about interest rates in their disclosure statements.
