Bikshu,

What are MBNA's criteria for automatic line increases?

We've had reports of little usage, lots of small charges, running card up to near maximum then paying down...etc.

How often can one expect an auto increase?

Care to clarify?

Also, does this work for MBNA cards only or also Affinity cards?

AT&T Universal Cash Rewards Credit Card Offer Discontinued

Well folks I received a letter today stating this card would be discontinued and that all accounts of this type would be closed. However it also said to call the 800 # if I wanted a different card so I asked to be switched to the version of the card with Thank You Points. Apparently they aren 't doing automatic switches and I got passed around to a couple of departments before I told them to forget it. I went on the website and applied for it and they said they would notify me within 30 days which I took to mean they won't give me one. This is probably just as well but I was really hoping to keep the accounts I had open for that ballance to available credit ratio thing. Anyone else get this letter yet? Sad because I have had this card for years and it even says "charter member" on it. Sad that they treat long time customers like this.

Cathy

I had the same card, and was able to convert to the AT&T Standard Universal Platinum card. I got my letter late May or early June. I called to inquire about converting the account early on and was told that you could choose another AT&T card (and would keep the same account #) or any Citi card, but it would be a new account #. I told them I would think about which I wanted and call back. She said the conversion had to be done before the account was closed (June 30th) or it would be too late. I just went for the Standard AT&T Platinum, because I had the Citi Dividend Platinum select already (a cash back card like the AT&T that was closing) and the Citi Professional (thank you points). I mainly wanted to keep the AT&T account open for it's history and the free 30 mins calling card is an added bonus. I don't know why you are getting the letter later than other account holders.

Was your expiration date in June? Mine is in October 2006 and they said the account would be shut down as of Oct 2nd. What I don't understand is why they won't just convert the card to another version of the card. Granted our credit circumstances might be a little different but I've never had a default with them and have had the card since my early college days (before the cash rewards program took affect).

Problem with my Bank of America Credit Card and Checking Accounts

Post subject: Problem with my Bank of America Credit Card and Checking Accounts

Attention fellow credit experts (and anybody else who has a thought): I am currently having an issue with BofA and I am wondering how much further to take my protest. I have both checking and credit with them. Here is a synopsis of the story. 1) The day before my payday the checking division of BofA allows a fraudulant EFT transaction of $52. 2) This in turn overdrafts the checking account by $28. 3) This in turn overdrafts the credit card linked for overdraft by $24 by the time you throw in the cash transfer fee. 4) I protest with the checking account division after getting passed around by several different departments 5) I file a fraud claim with the checking account division 6) I get my paycheck and make a payment on the credit card 7) My checking account gets refunded the $52 New statement on credit card is sent and I am slapped with a $35 overdraft fee. Still with me folks? My question is, is it worth further agrivation writing a letter of protest to the credit card (with of course, proof of my fraud claim) about that $35 based on principle? I'm thinking of writing instead of calling this time since I tend to write more politely then talk when I'm annoyed plus I don't want to get passed around to different customer service departments since I've had a lot of that with credit cards lately.

Write , carefully explain what happenned, and why you should be refunded. Send your letter certified mail.

Call again and see i it can be resolved over the phone.

Good Luck.
