Brand new request from a major national newspaper as follows:

I'm looking for consumers who, as interest rates rise, are rate surfing -- transferring balances to lower-rate cards. Ideally, I'd like to talk to consumers who have done this more than once in recent months/past year, in other words, those for whom this is not a one-time deal. If not, a consumer who has just done this recently would work.

Please e-mail me asap if interested. The reporter is super nice. This will be a fun one and will help educate other consumers about how to save big bucks on interest charges!

Odds are it will post on the next statement. But some merchants have instant systems in place and it could hit your statement the same day it's printed. Things like cash advances at the bank, for example, could post the same day.

interesting that amex told you that. i bought a camera flash yesterday at noon. hit my statement closing yesterday, as well. not a big deal, but i do time the different cards statements so i don'y have to pay them until the last minute...

I asked if it would post next statement. They checked it and they are like yes. They asked the price. I said roughly 2500. They put me on hold for id says 30secs. They are like yes you will be fine. I said id call that same day just to make sure and they are like ok but it would post next statement. =]

First we had silver, Gold, Platnium. then titanium, now we just have cards. Back in the day, those names meant something. Now it's all about rewards. What's next????

There are higher end cards these days (Visa Signature and World MaserCard), but it's mostly marketing hype.
