Guys, I don't want to burst your bubble, but Washington Mutual customers tend to have very low income. They open accounts because they are free. EVERY single check that was given to me in my store that bounced was from a Washington Mutual due to NSF. So when customers pull out a WaMu debit or credit cards, I know they either have no money or they have bad credit. I get surprised if the transaction doesn't decline. They always decline if the charge is large which meant their limits were too low. I'm in south florida and the WaMu customers I had lived in low income zip codes, so I don't know if my observation applies to people in other regions. For me, the name WaMu is a turn off.

Actually with 0% Bt for one year and a lower rate than CITI I don't see what the banks customer has to do with the card. We are not discussing free checking here. Wachovia also has free checking and it doesn't matter to me if every other customer they have are bouncing checks all over town. I only care that I no longer pay 8 dollars a month to access my own money. That's 96 dollars a year for nothing.
What makes you assume that people who have WaMu credit cards have bad credit. That's a generalized assumption based on a limited area. I deal with people who have credit cards all over the country and see people with Discover and Amex declined constantly for a 20 plus dollar purchase and continue to pull card numbers out of the air one decline after another. Maybe its just YOUR area.
I don't think its fair to cast disparagements on a bank or a group of people based on limited experience. Besides, what do the customers have to do with the bank service?
BTW, the last time someone had to call in on a transaction I made was because I charged more than was normal for my card usage.

Not nearly as much as leezee's. I got 2500 but that's great considering i filed BK 5 yrs ago. No credit cards involved in that BK though nor personal loans so maybe that's why my scores were still low 600s after filing.

I have a WAMU Mastercard, this was bought out from Providian, I had the card since 1999. At the time I took the card out, my credit was fine, I received a mailing for the platinum card. My current limit is $16500.00, however the interest is not that great, but I always PIF each month.
With Providian, I got an increase of nearly $2000-$4000.00 a year, since WAMU has taken over, I have not received any increase, but I dont spend that much on it anyways.
Customer Service I cant rate, as I never call them for anything.
