I just found this card online, I can't find a link to apply for it online, but I was told by a customer service rep that I could apply for it over the phone. The number is 1-888-426-1114.

RBS Custom Cash Platinum Rewards

Here are the details:
3% cash back in the merchant category you spend the most money in every month, I will define them below:
- Airlines (including every carrier domestic and worldwide)
- Catalogers and Direct Merchants (such as catalog and telemarketing merchants)
- Clothing and Accessories Merchants (including shoe stores and children's clothing)
- Electronics and Appliances Merchants (such as computer stores and household appliance stores)
- General Retailers (including department stores and discount stores)
- Grocery Merchants ( such as supermarket chains and convenience stores)
- Home Improvement Merchants (including home supply warehouses and hardware stores)
- Hotels (including motel and resorts)
- Pharmacies and Medical Providers (such as drug stores and opticians)
- Restaurants (from fine dining to fast food)
- Service Providers (such as beauty salons and auto repair shops)
- Specialty Retailers (such as greeting card stores and antique shops)
- Sports and Leisure Merchants (including tickets to sporting events and movie theatres)
- Transportation Providers (non-airline - such as train tickets and auto parts stores)
- Utilities and Associations (including electric companies and gym memberships)
- Gasoline Stations (including every brand nationwide)

Everything else earns 1% cash back.

Now obviously you shouldn't use this card for groceries and gas, as the Citi Dividend's 5% cash back beats this one at 3%. But evidently they do all the "hard work" from month to month in determining which one of these merchant categories you spent the most in for that month. You don't have to change categories yourself. Whichever category you spent the most money in for that month is the category that you will earn the 3% cash back.

Talk about ease of cashout, once you earn $15 worth of cash back, they will automatically send you a $15 check with your next statement. I'm going to apply for this card to specifically replace my restaurant card, but this may come in handy for a lot of other purchases that would be cool to earn 3% cash back from.

sigh, just when I think I have my credit card army complete, another new soldier appears ready to do battle. I may have to get this one too.

Only thing I would caution (take with salt)

RBS unless anything has changed in the last 5 years, has no online site unless you have more than a credit card, and you can't make an online payment. I had a RBS Centura card from years ago, and had repeated problems with them "receiving" my check.

That looks like a great, great card to have! Thanks for posting!

There's a listing of merchants showing how they're classified. Some of the classifications are a bit odd. Amazon is classified as Sports & Leisure; Wal-Mart is General Retail; Office Depot and Mary Kay are both Specialty Retail (!); Costco isn't listed.

You're limited to $300 in rebates PER MONTH (!!!!).

Very comprehensive reward program that also allows you to earn 3% at WallyMart which isn’t too bad. It seems that non-rewards cards are becoming a thing of the past as competition heats up. I plan on applying for this one.
