Iberiabank celebrates 125 years

Iberiabank, a regional bank with locations in 12 states, is celebrating its 125th anniversary, the company announced. The company started in Louisiana in 1887, and has grown to 173 bank branch locations and offers four Visa credit cards.

The bank has made its name in Louisiana, Arkansas, Tennessee, Alabama and Florida as a locally focused institution, that offers private banking, retail, mortgage, investment and commercial management services in addition to its Visa cards. It offers its Visa cards only to customer's with excellent credit scores and verifiable income, but it also offers fairly low interest rates. A sampling of Iberiabank card offers, including purchase APR's which are dependent on creditworthiness, includes:

  • Iberiabank Visa Classic - Variable purchase APR of 7.25 percent, 10.25 percent or 13.25 percent based on your creditworthiness. This APR will vary with the market based on Prime.
  • Iberiabank Visa Platinum -- Variable purchase APR of 9.25 percent, 12.25 percent or 15.25 percent based on your creditworthiness. This APR will vary with the market based on Prime. Earn one point for each $1 spent in qualifying purchases.
  • Iberiabank Visa Select - The only Iberiabank card with an annual fee, currently $35. Variable purchase APR of 7.50 percent, 9.50 percent or 11.50 percent based on your creditworthiness. This APR will vary with the market based on Prime.
  • Iberiabank Visa Gold - Variable purchase APR of 9.25 percent, 12.25 percent or 15.25 percent based on your creditworthiness. This APR will vary with the market based on Prime. Earn 1 percent of each dollar spent in qualifying purchases.

For a limited time the Iberiabank Visa Classic, Platinum and Gold card each have an introductory balance transfer offer of 1.99 percent for six billing cycles. After that your assigned purchase APR will apply. They each also have a 2 percent foreign transaction fee of each transaction is U.S. dollars as well as a 2-percent balance transfer fee of each transfer amount.

The Iberiabank Visa Select card has an introductory balance transfer APR of 1.99 percent or 7.50 percent for 12 billing cycles. After that your assigned purchase rate will apply. It has a 3 percent balance transfer fee of each transfer amount and 3 percent foreign transaction fee of each transaction in U.S. dollars.

Iberiabank is a publicly traded company. According to its press release, the senior leadership celebrated the bank's milestone anniversary on March 13 by ringing the bell at the NASDAQ opening. The bank marked the occasion with giveaway iPads at its branch locations and through its Facebook page. It also gave away more than $12,500 worth of fuel at gas stations throughout its service areas by giving random customers up to $15 worth of free gas.
