Sears Mastercard

I have a regular Sears card and make full payments on time. I have only had this card since May. I just found out about the Sears MasterCard and wanted to upgrade to this card. I called Customer Service, and they told me that they upgrade regular Sears accounts randomly, and that there is no guarantee that my account will be upgraded to the MasterCard. I do not want to apply for the card because I have had a lot of activity, in terms of opened accounts, and do not want to lower my FICO. Does anyone have any experience with converting to the Sears MasterCard?

I was upgraded to a Sears Mastercard after being upgraded to the Premium and this was after months of inactivity on my acccount. I have yet to activate my Mastercard, and honestly don't really have a use for it...but if you are in good standing with Sears, they will upgrade your account...first to the Premium and then to the Mastercard. You will get things in the mail asking you if you would like to upgrade or not...that is your choice, but only after they decide to do it.

I have had my account since 1979 no M/C offer.

Some people have got the M/C in the mail and were told that the "STORE" card was closed.

On the UP-SIDE the credit limit was like 20 times higher.

Its possible to be upgraded (if you want to call it an upgrade) to a Sears Mastercard without having their Premium card.. I had a regular sears card, then they upgraded me to a premium card, then I didn't charge enough, so they downgraded me to a regular sears card, then tried to upgrade me to a Sears mastercard.. I decieded to just stick with the regular old sears account though.. I would cancel that too, but its my emergency card in case someday my oven or washing machine deciedes it wants to break down..

Sears sent me a letter telling my that my account would be automatically upgraded to the Sears Mastercard unless I called a phone # by a certain date to cancel it. I ran to the phone and cancelled it as soon as I could.. My credit line would have increased by a few thousand dollars, but I was not at all impressed by the interest rates they where charging.

I would take it (M/C) if it was "PRE-APPROVED" no "HARD" inquiry and twenty times my current limit...I WOULD EVEN SETTLE FOR FIVE TIMES MY CURRENT LIMIT!
