American Express Golf Card

Has anyone else had trouble with American Express raising the required number of points for their rewards program. I have been saving points for three years for a set of golf clubs and now that I have enough, they tell me that the required number of points is more than doubled (from 75,000 to 175,000) I'm considering legal action, has anyone else had trouble.
