Taz,

You know it's hard to tell someone just what they should do without looking at their whole credit picture. You may need another card for debt to ratio ....I think that is the term LOL...it's getting late for me...but the meaning is you MAY have a lot of debt and not enough available credit so you need a CL increase or you MAY need another credit card with a high credit limit! Each person's need is different. Just keep in mind you said you want to buy a home so eliminate the debt as soon as you can!

YES.......you MAY need more "AVAILABLE"

DEBT TO CREDIT LIMIT RATIO

If you don't pay down APR's up to 19.99% (with lower APR's) HOW WILL THAT HELP WITH A MORTGAGE???

If nothing else ask for current cards for a lower APR "IF" you fear applying for a couple of cards with 0.00 BT's

I found by calling on a yearly basis, I would get at least $1000; The last increase I received ($2500), was a few months ago.

Typically you should go for your first luv 9 months after getting the card. Then you're re-luved each 6 months if you prove to be luvable... That's basically everybody's experience with BoA.. YMMV though...

Credit Card Credit Line Increase Without Pulling Credit?

Guest: canadianpotatoes
Post subject: Credit Card Credit Line Increase Without Pulling Credit?

So I have two questions

1) When I call my credit card companies, ask for a credit limit increase if they don't need to pull my credit, and then say no thanks when they say it would require pulling my credit report -- is this recorded anywhere and would it prevent me from getting a CLI if I do this every month?

2) I have a sole proprietorship where I use my SSN as my tax ID number. If I get a "business credit card" for my business, isn't this basically just a personal credit card in every way, except for having my business name on it? Also, is there any chance that my business credit card could have a higher credit limit or better terms than if I applied for a personal card?

Thanks! (PS Hi people, I took a couple month break from this forum)

Don’t know about #1.

As for your second question, if your DBA is approved, there are many cards that will not report on your CR. Also, yes business cards generally have a higher CL than regular cards.

Another benefit is the itemized statements you receive that allow for better control of your expenses.

Long time no see Tater'! Question #1 I personally think and this is just an opinion that anytime we click on the increase button or call in and ask that it is saved to our "File" somewhere. Someone once posted something in reference to the CC company asking him why he clicked on the derned Luv' button so much.If that causes future issues with CLI's I do not know. I bet nobody really knows. I know I click on my derned Citi-Luv-Button once a week. It dont really love me that much though.....Really aint Loved me in months actually!

Question#2. I also own and operate a small business as a sole proprietor using my SSN for all things bank and tax related. I have several Business CC's that have both my name and the business name on the cards and statements. Business acrds are easy to get and I have not once been asked to prove or verify anything at all! The great thing about the business cards is that they do not report to your personal bureau so if you plan on carrying any balances your utilization aint mussed up. My business cards came with limits that were in line with what my personal cards are.IO also expected big huge juicy 50K-75-100K limits but no dice as I seem to be a guy with 15K-20K cards. They without fail will pull your personal bureau every time you apply though. I even BT'ed a few personal card balances over to the business cards. Most of my Biz' Plastiek came from issuers with whom I already have a personal card with and they have all actually been easy to do business with. I have yet to apply for any Biz card "Cold" and have always responded to invites and stuff. Thewy must have gotten my business info somewhere as the invites and prescreened stuff always has my business name on it.

Phone records? Insurance? I dunno I just know that as soon as I got my Business policy through GMAC ins I have been "Bombarded" with offers.

Since Pluto is no longer a planet in our solar system, CITI now uses the alignment of UR-ANUS to decide on CLI's

Actually Pluto is a dwarf planet, but the politically correct term is little planet.

PLUTO NOT BEING A "REAL" PLANET WAS WORTH THE COSTS INVOLVED IN DOWN-SIZING IT

NOT!!!!

I'll agree with you about Corvettes and "good looking cards", but I'm not giving up my heels . I'm 5'10", and when wearing spikes I actually look down upon those strapping 6 footers. Of course, they still outweigh me by about 70 lbs, but lb for lb I'm pretty tough

This is encouraging. I think I will ask for another CLI soon and then quit using it as my primary card once I get one with better benefits.
