Searching for Credit Union in NYC

Post subject: Searching for Credit Union in NYC

I'm looking for a credit union in NYC/Long Island, and I'm having a really hard time finding one. I work for a very small company with no associations with anyone who is connected to a credit union, and I'm not affiliated with any major groups really. No military associations either, just some friends who are marines.

There's the Montauk CU, which I could theoretically join, but they don't offer credit cards at all, and their loan options are very limited. They also only have 1 or 2 ATMs in Manhattan AFAIK, which is a dealbreaker.

Anyone else here live in NY/NYC/LI and know of a good credit union, or even a good list? I'm up to suggestions at this point!

I found a website and you can search credit unions all over the US by criteria. Either by where you live, employment, city, county or state. here it is: http://www.howtojoinacu.org/

Go to www.ncua.gov

They have lists of credit unions by state.

Also www.nyscul.org

This is the NYS Credit Union League Website.

Why does it have to be NY based? Anyone can join the Pentagon Federal Credit Union (PenFed). They're a wonderful nationwide organization and you do NOT have to have a military afiliation to join. See https://www.penfed.org/howToJoin/overview.asp for more information.
