from what i have been learning; you should work with what you have in this regards...get your balances below 50% to the limit ratio if at all possible. and get the IR reduced on existing ones if possible; and get your limits raised if you can.
if you know anything is wrong on your credit report; have it fixed if you can next; if anything was your doing that is negative...ask for a customer service deletion or something to that affect. can 't hurt to ask
then from there once you have done what you can then maybe your score will be alittle better-
then go get a new card to work with. I think that the 5.9 one is probably good but maybe try to see if you can get a 0% one to carry for a year then you may do something like the 5.9 or in a year- you may qualify for another new card who knows...the best thing to do is get your score the best you can first before applying for new cards IF YOU HAVE THE TIME
if you don't have time then you do what you have to...I am right now waiting approx 45 more days to get my new card as I know I am doing some things with switching and paying down that will boost my position to get a higher limit on my new card. Hope that helps.
