On another site I frequent, there is an offer for $200 in reward points that can be cashed in for a $250 check when new members are approved for the chase freedom card at this address:

I’m not sure whether the offer is just for new chase customers, but many are claiming that if you don’t have freedom already, you will still get it. I don’t know any more details, just make sure the offer is for $250 on you first purchase. Otherwise, this card is not so good. But $250 is good.

Nice offer. As you suggest, aside from the bonus on first purchase, it’s a throwaway card — 18.24% v, no intro 0% on purch or bt’s.

But I’m betting that the card can be converted to better numbers after you cash the $250 check.

I’ll be begging for better rates right after the check’s in the bank.
