Chase has done the exact same thing with me. I applied for the cash plus card and got a $200 limit. Two cli later it is up to $700 and it was like pulling teeth. After the last increase I applied for the Sony Chase card and got the same $2,500 limit with a 12 months interest free period. I will probably just ask to transfer the limit to my cash plus card I guess.

I have this post in another topic "Chase Cards" but it seems to be more relevant here:
I received a Pre-Approved Chase invitation in June of 06. Responded to the offer via. website and was told my card would arrive in 7-10 days. I couldn't believe the initial $400 CL. This was by far my lowest CL ever! I used the card for the past 9 months and PIF'd every time. I recently hit the LUV button and had to fill out a short app. The message said that they would contact me shortly with a decision. I got the letter about a week later and they raised my CL to $600. WTF??? All this trouble for a $200 CLI not to mention the hard pull from EX. It's like a double shot to the chin...hard pull + really low limit anyway. I called to complain but they did nothing for me. Offered to re-evaluate in 30 days for another hard pull.
Why is Chase so cheap with CLI's??? I'm afraid to apply for any other Chase cards due to their low CL's. They're not worth the hard pulls in my opinion. Also, my card is a Platinum MC only, no rewards of any kind with a 20.88% APR. Just an ugly card overall.
