I would like to get a copy of my credit report. I’m not sure which is the best place. I poked around on a few sites and it seems like they all jsut lead to another site that says it can get your credit report. Also too, I jsut paid off one of my credit cards a few days ago, what would be the guess on how long it would take to show up on my report?
thanks,
Marcus

Thanks,The free ones don’t have your score though, right? If I wanted my score which would be the best place?

I subscribe to Truecredit.com

Not only do they have condensed, easy to read credit reports, but they let you update your credit score every 24 hours, which may help you bump off some undesirable things from your report.

I have heard that AMEX has a similar service, but I’m not familiar with it.

Keep in mind that the score you see with TC is not really set in stone. I’m learning this as I go along, but evidently there is no Gold Standard when it comes to credit scores. In fact, many members of this forum call such scores FAKO scores, because they may or may not truly represent your true score.

I think CCs are like most revolving credit, they get updated once a month. At least that’s how it works with one of my CCs, not sure about the others I have.

Which score? There are almost as many scoring models as there are stars in the sky. It seems that every company out there periodically reinvents the wheel and comes up with a new variant and a different score. Not only that, but lenders do not use the same scoring model as consumers can see.

The question is why do you want to see your “score?” Are you planning to apply for a mortgage or other significant credit event? If not your “score” really doesn’t matter and knowing it will not change your life.
