I recently got married. Thanks.
My wife has a bit of credit card debt, about 12K, that I want to either pay off or BT it.
Here’s the question. If I want to BT it to a card under my name, can I do that?
YOU CAN BT ANY CARD GONE
I could BT your debt gone on my card IF I WANTED TO
Most of the time all you give them is the card number and the amount to pay
Sometimes you have to add the payment address (KINDA’ RARE THOUGH)

ask your wife to add you as an AU, then you can BT to one of your cards.
No need for that–anyone can do a bt to ANY credit card in the system. The bank just wants the credit card number; it doesn’t know or care about who uses the card.
hmm, i was told by a bank, that i had to be an AU on that account. learned something new

I’d pay it off asap. If you want to do a 0% BT to buy some time, fine. More importantly, I’d tell her that your joint plan will subsequently be to PIF rather than accumulate any balances. If you don’t have the cash, don’t buy the item .

Yes you can. All you need to do is provide them the account info.
Before doing anything check the terms of your card. You could be hit with a $360 fee.
