I just updated to the 2007 version of Quicken Deluxe. On the CD there is an offer for a Quicken Platinum Select MasterCard with 0% BT and 0% BT fee for 9 months. I applied on line and 5 minutes later I was approved for $5,000.00. There was also an offer to send a balance transfer check direct to the card holder (me) for up to the maximum allowed BT. In my case it was $4,750.00. I said yes and 7 minutes after I logged in they're putting both check and card in the mail! This sounds almost too good and too easy to be true, except that it is true!
BTW, the card is administered by Citibank.
BTW2, I paid $18.00 for Quicken on eBay - 'way below what other resellers are selling it for. Whatever you're buying check eBay first. Chances are somebody is selling it there cheaper.

Ira,
Thanks for the tip. Although, I've never used Quicken, I've been thinking about getting back with Citibank (had a couple accounts with them long ago and closed them for no good reason). I keep hearing Cititbank is more consumer friendly than most other card companies.
I may as well learn Quicken while I'm at it, in spite of my very thin "portfolio". Maybe it will thicken if I get quicken. Groan.

Hey Verne,
Nice to see you back.
I don't use Quicken to track investments, mainly because I don't have any, other than retirement accounts. I've been using it to track expenses and credit card transactions since the dim dark days of DOS. The credit card story made t more than worth e price of admission for the update.
I've NEVER had a problem with Citi and I do all my banking with them. Then again I've never had a problem with any bank. I never call customer service with a chip on my shoulder, I treat CSRs with respect, and I always accomplish what I set out to do.

After much research, Citi came to the conclusion that customer service is one of the main things consumers are screaming for. They implemented their new campaign that 'they have humans on the other end of the line'.
They have developed this niche.
Seems to be working since everyone that I've spoken to is very happy.
After making an investment of God knows how much money and time they got something right.
They should of came here and done their focus group for free.
