I just got one in the mail and was curious If I make my payment it goes to the largest outstanding balance as I understand the offer. You must make two purchases each month. The balance on these two purchases will include interest and will not go down until the bt is paid off.
So here is my question. If I make those two purchases each month and I return the items for refund would this be credited to the bt or the purchase balance made that month? Is this a loop hole or has discover found a way to prevent this Just curious
Setup a paypal subscription payment to yourself or someone else for $.01 twise a month. Play ball!

I would recommend calling the credit card company and posing this question to customer service to know for sure how that money is going to be credited? Or you can just try it once and see on the following statement what comes of it.

Can you really do this without minimums?

RETURNS are probably a VIOLATION
I didn’t want to do it…I PIF before the 1 purchase needed to start
(didn’t have to do 2)
1.99% with no purchases needed and no fee would probably be a better deal

Wow! I’m impressed. Discover customer service rocks! Wink Anyone else have a similar experience?
Curtis, I’ve had this happen several times with several cards. The first time you screw up they’ll reinstate the promo rate as a courtesy. However, don’t dare do it again!

Unfortunatly they do not have an automatic payment method in place.
JB, you can easily schedule automatic payments through your checking account. Every bank offers electronic bill payments and bill payment scheduling. If you determine that your payments are due, say, on the 15th of the month you can schedule an automatic payment to go out on the 10th of every month until canceled. I’ve been doing this for years.
You can do this with all of your bills. Pay them all directly from your checking account. It saves having to log onto each and every creditor’s web site every month, it’s fast, it’s easy, it’s safe, it’s accurate, and you can go to just the one place to verify that payments have been made. You can also verify the date that your payments have cleared. Simple!

With who do you have your Discover Card? Mine is with GE Money Bank. You can go online and schedule to be sent an email reminder that your statement is available. Same thing is true with Chase and Amex.

An amazing thing has happened to my Discover Card. I had a BT at 0% for as long as I made two purchases a month and paid the bill on time. I made a mistake last month and made the purchases one day late. When I called customer service about this they said I might be able to have the BT at 0% reinstated and the finance charge credited for one time. After a few days it was reinstated and refunded as they said. I have set into motion a method to make sure the charges are done on time and the bill is paid on time. Unfortunatly they do not have an automatic payment method in place. So what I can do is to be reminded on my Treo one month in advance to schedule the payment on the web site in advance of the due date.
I truely was surprised that they would do this and that they offered to do it without me asking.
Set up a paypal subscription to yourself paying $.01 once on the 7th and once on the 15th. So you don’t have to pay a purchase APR for the life of the 0% BT. Just a lil advice.
