I'm curious about something.
If you have a card that you don't use anymore...or want to get rid of because the card is about to ding you for the yearly fee...do you cancel your card?
I've read here that canceling cards isn't good. But what if you don't want to keep paying the yearly fee?
You can ask for a waiver of the fee or trade for a NO FEE CARD
I agree.

i cancel all accounts i have no intention of using again.
If you have a long history (i.e., active accounts >10yrs. old) & good credit, it won't matter one bit. If you're lacking one or both of the above, keep them open.

If you end up canceling the card, then be sure to follow up in writing and keep a copy of the letter for your records.
