Post subject: Denied for American Express Credit Card

Hi everyone,
I’ve applied for an American Express twice and was denied both times.
The first time, I got denied for not making enough (on a student card!?)
The second time…
Your consumer credit bureau score is too low (See below)
Too few established accounts or insufficient account information.
High utilization of credit lines or insufficient utilization information.
Length of time accounts have been established.
Too many inquiries last 12 months.
Too many accounts with balances.
My scores are currently EX: 675 EQ: 603
But should be going up a lot in the next month as I just paid off my entire balance of my citibank card, and that was most of my utilization…and a few of my inquiries have fallen off the 12 month thing since that application mess. I have about a year and a half of credit history.
Should I try again? Is there an AMEX that’s easier to get than a green charge card? Should I go for the student card?
