Cap1 doesn’t give “customer initiated” credit limits. That’s its policy.
What’s the point of having a $2,000 credit limit if you refuse to use more than 20%? Use more. And since no one knows the credit limit is $2,000, you’ll look maxed out at your high balance, which apparently you keep at $400! No point in that.
Apply for a different card with Cap1. That’s the best way to get more credit from it.

My God, you’re right! I’ve never before noticed this. What a lousy bank. If this weren’t my oldest card, I would certainly close it.

NO CREDIT LIMIT IS A NON ISSUE
Max the card out and PIF after the statement date
“HIGH BALANCE” is the default
