I just applied for what i thought was going to be a Citi Dividend Platinum Select MasterCard but was told that i was accepted for a Citi Dividend AMEX card. It’s suppose to have the same 5% cash back for Grocery, Drugstore, Gas purchases. If it doesn’t have the 5% back when i receive it in 2 weeks then i’ll come back and post about it.
The Citi AMEX actually has a much higher rate than the MC
If you’re referring to the APR for purchases the MasterCard version is currently listed at 18.24% and the AMEX version is the same.

If you are talking abou the AT&T universal card, the same thing happend to my roommate a few months ago. They sent here something in the mail saying that they closed her account due to inactivity. They never called or mailed her anything prior to that. I guess they don’t even ask if you want to keep it open or not, they just automatically close it. I’ll never get that card!

Okay Folks, my bad - kinda’. After spending a huge amount of time on the phone yesterday, I found out that CitiBank DID send out two notifications that they were no longer in a ‘relationship’ with AT&T! Guess what?!? I did not receive those notifications! Is it me or the Post Office - or CitiBank????

And talk about mixed signals. The first lady I talked to yesterday assured me there was a replacement card mailed to me. Since the account was closed June 30th and it was mid-July and no card had been received, I called back and talked to another person to also assured me that I had been misinformed. If I had not responded to the letter (I didn’t get) by a certain date, the account closed and there was no replacement.

So, I spend another (considerable) amount of time on the phone applying for the new American Express Cash Return card at 5% for all grocery stores, drug stores and gas stations.
