I called the 1-800 number and spoke to someone at EQ right away... didn't even have to wait. I just told him that AMEX put double inquiries on my report and the second one should have been a soft. The guy didn't seem like he cared about an explanation at all, almost cut me off and just wanted the date of the inquiry. I told him the date, and he said he put a dispute on the inquiry and I will get a letter in about 30 days with the results. I checked my report about an hour later and the inquiry was already gone.

So I was approved for the Citi MTVu card to get 5 points for dining, movies, books, etc... which is the best points card out right now. So that made me happy. I wanted an American Express card, but AMEX really displeased me, but Citi made me happy... so I combined the two and applied for the Citi Diamond Preferred American Express and got approved on that as well. It has 5 points back on supermarkets, gas, and drug stores, plus $100.00 for signing up!

So the AMEX blue is going to get sock drawered I think. I may use it a couple times at 7-11 because it has the quickpass thing, but I think I will just be a Citi guy from now on. Hopefully their level of customer service will be better than what I got from AMEX.

When I got my Blue card, the limit was too low. I called before I activated it and spoke to a person, not an automated voice prompt. They gave me the maximum initial limit--$25,000. Did you activate the card THEN tried to increase the limit? at the time my score was around 750+ or so.
