I got a statement from CitiBank after applying for a Citi Diamond Preferred Rewards Card Mastercard account. They pulled equifax and gave me one reason why they couldnt offer me credit:
Quote:
A deliquent credit obligation, either paid or unpaid, was recorded on your credit bureau report.
Thats funny, i dont seem to be having any trouble from anyone else getting new credit. Yes there is a deliquent account but here are the 2 that are deliq.
Cross Country Bank and MBNA...which were paid in full and are 5 years and 7 years old respectively..the MBNA will be off my CR in 3 short months.
SO... should i call them and ask them if i should reconsider or was the decision based on a computer looking at my credit report instead of a human actually looking at the whole picture seeing that i havent been deliquent on ANYTHING in close to 50 months now.?? thanks for the advice in advance!

Two answers.
1) Call them and ask for reconsideration. What have you got to lose? Tell the credit analyst what you told us.
2) Why bother? Try again next year. One account will be off your report then--and on another try a different bureau might be pulled anyway.
