I was instantly approved for the American Express Blue card about 6 months ago. I was approved within 30 seconds and they gave me 0% APR for 15 months.
American Express gave me a confimation number which was good for a small amout of credit immediately online. My card arrived at my home in about 7 days.

I never get approved instantly, only with my Express Charge card in store tho.

Collected up on 6 preapproved offers in dec all instantly approved with cl of 600 to 30.000 time to take a break. it did knock about 40 points off my fico. some money movent also may be part of the drop.

Instant approvals: Bank of America, Citi dividend and AAdvantage world platium, Amex blue.
I applied for AMEX platinum yesterday by filling out the short application online for amex customers. I got a message saying that they would process it and will receive the card within 14 days if approved.
I checked the status online today and found out that I was approved.
