Hi,

I noticed that HSBC has a “Request a Credit Limit Increase” link.

It says and I quote:
In order to process this credit limit increase request, click the “Submit” button below.

HAS ANYONE TRIED THIS AND DO THEY DO A HARD OR SOFT INQ

PS - if you click on the statement tab on the top of the page. You will see the link CLI button on the right hand side of the page.

Mine says:

“In order to process this credit limit increase request, we may obtain a current copy of your credit report. To authorize this request, click the “Submit” button below.”

Smells like a hard pull to me, or at least they can if they want. I’d call if you want to try for a no hard CLI.

I have two Household Cards (sub prime HSBC). They have this button, but after you link it it tells you to call them. You call and you get horrible service from India somewhere. I have had 2 unauthorized pulls by doing this and at the time of call, I was eligible for an increase for a small fee. Didn’t bite.

BTW, I complained about the pulls and got a generic “whatever” email from HSBC. Too bad I have **** credit and need them.

Be patient. You’ll soon start getting better offers as soon as your good payment history starts showing up. They get the attitude that this is all you can get but start applying for those better mailers and online in about 6 months or so.
