TxQT, I’d be surprised if a gas company card pays a rebate, since there is no competition to use it elsewhere. You may still try for the Chase Rewards Plus and/or Citi Dividend Rewards cards. Even a small credit limit would be useful. Discover is more of a challenge to get.
If you are looking to start a credit history, I can understand getting a gas company card. I’d think they are easier to get as they usually come with low credit limits.

thanks steve, yea I really wasn’t to worried about rebates because I know I probably won’t qualify for those kinds of cards, so that is why I asked about what gas card may be a bit easy to obtain with a low fico score.

I’d try Chevron but I doubt they have any rebates except for the possibility of some 90 day cash back offer. They have some sort of program for poor credit scores.
Shell is giving $25 gift card for applying now.
I use Citi Dividend for the 5% cash back.

Gas cards are usually one of the easier cards to get, and i dont think you should be applying for a discover card. They are very picky. Try chevron, or shell ( shell is issued by citi bank i beleive).

I don;t know of any rebates on regular gas cards.
I’ve heard that they are pretty hit or miss as far as approvals.
If you are under 650…..its gonna be a tough approval to get.
