Is a Phone Necessary for Credit Card Approval?

Doing a bit of research it seems that some places won't consider issuing credit without a home phone, cell phones don't count.

My family has gone all cellular for the past year and loves it. Is this a common requirement, or should I just accept limited options and shop around for issuers that will allow cell phone numbers as home phones? Am I better off just biting the bullet and throwing money down the local baby bell outlet hole?

Absolutely not. Any functioning freind/neighbor's land line will do, you don't have to be the line's owner. Nor do CCCs run a check to match number to domicile. If they absolutely must reach you, don't fret, they'll catch ya at your work number (if employed course).

ok shortstop maybe I'll just list my home cellular as the number. We use 3 his, hers, and a home one. If that doesn't work out I can always use a friend or the lone relative in our area I guess.

Thanks for the reply.
