Credit Cards from USAA and American Express

I can't recommend USAA enough. I'm excited about the new Amex. I already have an AMEX and a USAA card, but I might just get this one anyway.

My father was an officer, so my family gets to join USAA. I get cheap car insurance (better rates than Gieco).

With most financial companies, I always get the feeling the relationship is somewhat adversarial. You have to be ready to battle when there's an issue that needs to be addressed, especially credit card companies. I've never gotten that impression from USAA, they've always been my advocate rather than my adversary.

I think it used to be an officer-only thing, but I think they allow non-coms and enlisted too now (and their families). Not sure though.

You are correct Tonyb, they do allow all military, enlisted or commissioned.

I also agree that this is a great company to be part of. I do all the business I can with these guys. USAA has bent over backwards to help me when I needed them. They have my loyalty

Yea I applied and got mine last night. You need to have some sort of military affiliation. A good reason to run out and join the marines!

Can you provide some information about the card rewards structure?

Thanks.

Actually, it depends on the kind of products and services. Anyone can open a bank account with USAA.

Interesting I never knew that HJMo. The credit card services fall under banking so anyone may be able to apply and get the card, not just those of us who bomb small villages (Right Fenster?!?)
