Post subject: high limit on cap one

To benefit from getting cap one to post my high limit, how long must the balance be there? one statement period? one reporting period to the CRAs? one day? one week? I just got a limit increase to $1000 (YAY!) on cap one -14.99% We want to buy a bed, and my new providian has a balance transfer of 3.99% but purchases are 12.99% soooo............ I want to buy the bed on cap one to get the high limit to show on cr, then balance transfer to providian and pay off very quickly (as quickly as I can). So how long must the high limit be on there?

thanks,
the Mrs.

Post subject: Borrowing $$ from a Credit Card to open a business

I have NO cash but a lot of available credit. I'm looking to buy an exisiting bagel store for $170,000 (85K down and the seller will finance the other 85K). Is it feasible to take out the 85K from credit cards? Not necessarily as cash advances but by transferring all of my available to one card thus creating a HIGH CREDIT Balance then requested the credit refund. This way I avoid Cash advance APR rates and cash advance transactions fees. Well anyways, to my MAIN question. If the business fails and now I'm 85K in credit card debt, can I file for bankruptcy? There will never be anyway possible I'll be able to pay this back. Please help!!

Delinquent Credit Card Account

Author: call_station, Guest

Post subject: "Seriously Delinquet Accounts"

I was just looking over the online application for a Bank One Borders/Waldenbooks card. It says that an applicant should be able to say "yes" to 3 statements: no bankruptcies, no denials for credit by Bank One in previous 6 months, and finally no "seriously delinquent accounts" on credit report". This last one I may have a problem with. What is a seriously delinquent account? On my Equifax report, I have 3 negative items: 2 are student loans with Sallie Mae (actually 2 loans for the same school year). According to the report, I was 90-119 days late on 6/2001. I paid the overdue amount and then the loan was deferred as I entered grad school. The other negative item is another school loan, financed by my undergrad school. The report says I was over 120 days late from 01/1999 to 10/1999 (when I paid the full balance). Both of these accounts are now "Pays as Agreed". Are these "seriously delinquent acounts"? I realize that all of them were seriously delinquent when they were past due, but they are in good standing now. So how do credit card companies look at these accounts? My only non-student loan credit account is with Bally's. Do I have a chance at a Bank One (or any other bank) credit card?
