Post subject: WAMU 0% until 5/08 .....

on purchases and balance transfers made within the first 90 days. Interest rate is 8.9% after 5/08. After charging $ 4000, (it's tiered rewards before that,...goes up with each $ 1000) 5% cash back on grocery stores, gas, and drugstores. 10% cash back on gas for the first 6 months. Gotta say the 10% on gas right now is looking pretty good.

I was preapproved and went online. Got instant approval for $ 7000 and did a 3k balance transfer from my Chase card (my 0% ends in May)

Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Anyone else get this offer ?

"10% cash back on gas for the first 6 months."

Nice offer but most WAMU offers I've seen don't look too good after reading the fine print. Is there a limit on that 10%?

I just re-read the disclosure and it says "You will earn a cash rebate for all net new purchases (new purchases minus returns and adjustments) that you make with your card during each rebate period (anniversary date )" There is no mention of a cap.

I had looked for that before I applied and didnt see it. I just re-read everything a few times and still I dont see a cap.

you're screwed if you take advantage of both parts of the offer.

0% balance transfer? good deal, if you never buy anything on the card.

10% back on gas? good deal, if you pay off the card each month.

0% balance transfer and spending money on the card for gas? you're screwed. you get back 10% in that first month, but you have to pay 18% back to the credit card company for that gas every month until you pay off the full balance transfer.

it looks like it's too late to suggest you be careful. but others may stumble in here and give heed.
