Capital One Credit Card Reporting Tips

I'm hoping that the weekend reps are not given all updates...

If this is not the case - I spoke with an account rep over the weekend and wanted to know (based on another forums input) if they were planning to report customers entire credit line by years end to credit bureaus.

After she played word games with me (which actually was a good indication they were not making plans) I finally asked "I know you report my payments to the credit bureaus every month, but my question today is are you planning to report my entire credit line by the end of the year?

Her response was "she was not told they were planning on doing anything like that" for customers.

So, again, I hope she just was not aware of Cap1s plans, but most like they are not.

You know, they should realize that not reporting lines is not really giving them an advantage to keep their customers. People are shopping around for the best rates and competitors are meeting credit lines w/o Caps posting to bureaus.

Just thought you'd like to know

Someone on another forum stated their way of somewhat forcing Cap1s hand in reporting their credit limits was...

writing a check to themselves (of course leaving a little cushion just in case).

...after the funds are pulled, they write a check back to pay the Cap1 bill.

My question to whomever made that post or anyone else who may know - after you write the check and funds are pulled from the Cap1 account, how long do you wait before paying the Cap1 bill?

I ask so that if there has to be a certain amount of time in order for Cap1 to report to bureau I want to let that time and no more pass before paying the bill.

Thanks for the help because this may be the only way to get this credit line to report to (ALMOST) the penny.

Seems their answer depends on who you talk to on the customer service line. I decided to send an email to see what they are willing to put in writing
