Maybe that's a little harsh. I know it's the right thing to do, (meaning paying on time) but there are those who take advantage of credit and don't pay on time. I don't understand with the cost of living going up, why some banks are stingy when it comes to a CLI. Some banks will give you a lot, others some, and then there are those who will NOT accept a customers request like HSBC Direct Merchants & Barclays/Juniper and probably others I am not aware of.

You talking about people like me????
11+ years no CLI with MBNA
Never even one day late
Never any bounced checks
I used the stuffing out of that card
ALWAYS PIF
CARRIED A BALANCE
USED IT FOR ONLY BT's FOR SOME YEARS
SOCKDRAWERED IT AT $0.00 FOR 6-12 MONTHS
No difference
No CLI

...and they pay for the privledge with hefty late fees, highest interest rates, closed accounts, bad credit ratings, extreme difficulties getting additional credit, etc. We of the "do everything right, pay on time, don't abuse your credit" pursuasion are rewarded by not having to pay these penalties. Depending on the individual card issuer there are often additional perks such as rebates, lower interest rates for short periods of time, etc.
I don't know what more you can ask, although I'm sure I'm about to learn.

Question 4 mouse; are you saying that old MBNA which is now Bank OF America has not changed your limit in 11 years? Have you not tried the CLI form on the website?

Said 7-10 days
(THAT MEANS DENIED)
