Are you interested in browsing a copy of your Experian report that updates every day and every hour till the end of time, or at least for years?
Here’s what you do, you’ve to sacrifice the initial $9.95 for your initial Experian report at their original site and NOT at any of their affiliates’, again, it has to be Experian proper, not any of the other yoyos.
Once you’ve the confirmation/report number Experian furnishes you with for 90 days of viewing, guard that number real well cuz you might be able to use it for 90 years.
I have been viewing daily and updated Experian reports free of charge, and for almost 2 years now with my March 2005 Experian #. So far it worked like a charm on their site, all you have to do is click the “dispute” or “see report again” link _ bingo, live feedback after them Apporamas.
In fact, this feature provides you with the power of abrogation as well. Abrogate what, say you? Well, say you applied for a Chase card and you’re dying to know where did Chase inquire, if immediately after you completed your app you visited Experian and found no Chase, you can rest assured Chase went to Equi, for the banks that do TU can be counted on one hand.
So Experian gave you the power to NOT purchase a competing bureau’s report merely to find out who inquired where, it gave you a modicum of certitude and the ability to make educated guesses in the absence of absolute certitude. Not only that, you can now rest while knowing that the derog haunting your Experian profile won’t give Chase any cold feet.
To summarize, years of updated, unlimited Experian reports for peanuts, my New Year gift to you.
Call it what you wish...Paranoid Etc.. But I accepted the "New Years Gift From Fenster post" back on Jan 1st and find myself quite interested in the hoards of creditors both current and potential that are constantly knee deep in my business. It is a constant and never ending flow of companies that are "Sizing us up"... Our own CC issuers seem to be looking for any chink in your armour in order to mount an attack.
For those of You that did not go and get the 10 digit number for 24/7 access to your Experian file I can honestly say it was a $9.95 very well spent.

Only problem is that the notion doesn't work any longer. When I try it, I get to an error page saying:

We are unable to process your request with the Report Number you entered. To use this service, you must enter the Report Number from a personal credit report requested directly from Experian. If you initially requested your report more than 90 days ago, you will need to order a current copy. Click here to order your personal credit report. If you first requested your report within the past 90 days, please try again to enter your Report Number correctly.
So it looks like you have to have ordered a report within 90 days. The report number I used was from over a year ago. Fenster's tip DID work for me at the time he posted it, but it looks like things have changed.
Anyone disagree? Post your experiences.

Experian don't like Polonius.
I pulled Experian twice today with a report# dating back to Feb, 2005.
It's folly to think this venture is etched in blood, all good things will come to an end sometime.
In fact one doesn't even have to sacrifice the intial $9.95 if one goes to freeannualreport.com (or something like that) and claims his free Experian report, then ride it from there.
So if you get kicked out and haven't claimed your free annual report yet (we're still in early March), claim it, get a number and start all over again till they show you the door next year; at which time you'll repeat the task till death does you part.
By the way, Polonius is almost 70.

Excellent idea, Fen baby. Thanks for posting that.
Polonius pretends to be an old fart here; on MySpace I'm a hot 18 year old with abs of steel. I encompass multitudes. It's just the Internet; I'm not real.
