yep. That's how it was when I applied 3 months ago. Everything that said optional I left blank, was instantly approved but only for $6k. It was my third time applying, I had been denied 2 times before answering to pre-approval offers! Apply cold, and leave a lot blank and you'll get approved!

There Is No Problem. I've been a cardholder since April 06, CLI (S)without asking . I had time on my hands and was looking at my account and decided to look at the application & rates and noticed that you didn't have to provide employment . No Need to Beware Of Everything!

Is Discover really making employment information optional?

My husband has applied twice to preapproved offers but they leave messages
asking us to call them back and when we do they want a work phone number, which they then have said they can't verify. So they decline him because of that.
