HSBC Direct Merchants Interesting Credit Card Balance Transfer Offer Review

Post subject: How odd Is This:

I have a HSBC Direct Merchants card 12.5k limit with a 10.9 purchase rate, and a 16.9 cash advance fixed. I am being offered a balance transfer for 3 months at 12.99 % plus a 3 percent fee. I had to call them and find out what was wrong with them. I told them I do not have any accounts that have a rate higher than 12.99 %. They want me to take the funds from the cash portion at 12.9 instead of 16.9. I said, thanks, but no thanks.
