Post subject: student looking for a credit card
Sorry if this post isnt a valid post but
I was looking for a credit card with a high credit limit
i already have a credit card with an 800 dollar credit card limit, from wells fargo, it is a student credit card. the credit limit is not enough for me.
It seems like amex is the best one? I heard capital one sucks from my roomate. I hope I can get one thats a non-student card because my roomates are students as well and they have credit limits that are around 3500.
one other question, when I get credit card bills should I pay the minimum? or how much more do i have to pay in order to increase credit score? thank you in advance

Everything is dependent on you. No rules exist that students can only have student cards. The CL your assigned will be determined by your history, etc.
As for payment, PIF when possible. You don’t want to get into the rut of paying only the minimum due and you want to watch you utilization ratio.

We are just about to put up the new Discover Student Card in our website. Check it out and see whether you would like to apply for it. PIF meaning "Pay in Full" is best of you can afford it. Back when I was a student, I always paid in full but there was temptation to charge a lot of stuff and pay only the minimum!

Paying the minimum by itself will not hurt your credit score. As you pay your bills on time, your credit score will go up.
What does hurt your credit score is having a high ratio of debt to credit limits.
Hope that helps.

Still, you want to pay in full or you'll pay outragous interest rates and its possible to your debt will get to large for you to easily pay off. Credit cards are not for long term debt, if you can't pay for it at the end of the month don't buy it.
Really! This means you! Just say NO!
