I have over $500K total CL, out of that I have $200K HELOC, and $300K spread accross various CC or LOC CC - thick file, no baddies..had a few lates that were removed with goodwill letters, have CL with all major players except AMEX - closed all total of $150K CL with them due to F/R review request. Scores are high 700 on EX,EQ, and just recently joined the 800 club on TU

It's not the number of cards one has (it seems) but how well they use the ones that they do have. From the two posters above, this fact bears this out. WTG CreditDiva on 800 with TU! They are my lowest scorer by far. Equifax is my highest and always has been.
I've been reading different websites and different financial gurus websites as well and I find no two people can agree on how many cards one should have, what amount of utilization one should have, when to close cards, etc., etc. I am of the opinion now that what works for you, just continue doing it.
