This sounds familiar to me … only my nightmare involved Capital One and when I tried to resolve it with “Customer Service” I was tossed into the bowels of the earth (aka *****) where I was tossed back and forth like a beach ball between the credit card CS dept and the new accounts dept.
I had been approved on the spot online, but with alternate terms than those offered via their webpage — I was offered $5K at 12.9%. Cool by me … I was looking to increase my existing $2K limit for greater access to their no fee “purchase” checks. However, when I clicked on “Accept” their system flaked out and sent me to a “Web Page Not Found”.
After messing around with them via phone for near half a day, no one was able to help me. One rep said they could see the alternate offer and offered to transfer me to someone who could help. The line went dead. When I called back, I couldn’t find anyone who said that they had access to the application information and that I must be mistaken.
Screw ‘em (actually, I intended to follow up in writing, but I never managed to). Now I sit with inquiries on my ALL 3 of my credit reports. I expect to dispute them and hope that C1 doesn’t bother to verify.
Serves me right for having the poor sense to bother with the f’ers.

Nightmare? One extra inquiry is a nightmare?
You must have a wonderful life!
BTW, often those extra inquiries disappear within a week.
As for Cap1, it always pulls from all three bureaus in my experience–for a single application…

One inquiry isnt the point, it has happened to me to many times , and i only cared because it was experian…have too many inquiries on experian..the reason it upsets me is that they misled me..i spent 30 min with supervisor on the phone just to avoid this..
