Help Looking for a Credit Card

Post subject: looking for a credit card I need help

Hi there!

I have had some issues with my credit in the past. I have about 16 past dues on report and one charge off that shows as being paid. Those derogatory items end on Feb of 05. Since then I have paid everything on time. I now have a credit score of 660. And recently I was approved for a mortgage loan and now happily own my first home.

My question is this my credit is not good nor poor its considered fair. Do credit issuers just bundle someone like me in the poor credit group? I also want to apply for a credit card before my mortgage loan appears on my credit report. (I found it odd that it does not show, though I did just close on the house this month) Anyway, can someone suggest a good credit card to apply for that will give me a big credit limit and not 300 or so like most do. I don't think I deserve a 300 credit limit and no frills if you know what I mean plus securing it and paying fees.

I know Orchard bank & Premier bank issue cards to sub prime customers but I'm hesitant. What are my chances of landing a credit card from a reputable issuer with favorable terms and conditions and benefits taking into account my past credit history?

JO

That depends on what you call a BIG credit limit. Which bureau are you using for that score?

Not that big i guess, 3000-5000. And I'm signed up with TransUnion's credit monitoring service at this time, so its only their score. The others should be close since I have pulled my credit before form all three and they have been close like 10pts in variance maybe.
