Post subject: Who reports Authorized Users?

My mom, just tried to add me on her Chase credit card as a AU, bt they don't report AUs. I didn't ask her if she had a BOFA card. She dosent have a lot of recent activity on her cards, she has a fico score in the high 800's , so whatever card I can get on will only be a plus for me in the future...any suggestions?

Just have to call each of them individually and ask if they report AU accounts to all 3 credit reporting agencies.

Will make this a sticky and see what is contributed to this post for others to see.

Technically, an authorized user should not be reported by any creditor. Only primary users (and coapplicants) are supposed to be reported to the credit bureaus. If she puts you on as a primary cardholder, then you would share equal responsibility for the account and be eligible for credit reporting from that creditor.

Over 80% of credit files contain errors though, so anything is possible.

Well there are a lot of them out there that do report. And no it does not make the AU user responsible for the debt, unless they are using the card and have a verbal or written agreement with the owner of the account they would be responsible then to the owner not the credit card company.

I know for a fact Citi Bank offer AU account reporting.
