Post subject: What are my chances for Amex Platinum?
Hello. I recently received a pre-approved offer for the personal Amex Platinum charge card. My credit history is exactly 2 yrs of age. My current accounts are all revolving and are as follows:
Capital One Platinum (2yrs) - $500 limit
Chase Rewards (11 months) - $3000 limit
Citi Platinum Select (1year) - $3000 limit
Chevron Card (1 yr) - $300 limit
JC Penney (13 months) - $450 limit
Care Credit Card (6 months) - $5000 limit
Amex Gold Charge (1 year) - charge card
My current Fico is 660 (dropped because of credit utilization...about 40%)
No late payments, and I have been charging approx. $1k to the gold card for the past 4 months. Amex never requested any financial docs, so they don't have anything on file. Thank you in advance for your help and sorry about the long post.

JUST CALL AND ASK FOR AN UP-GRADE OF AMEX GOLD
THEY CREDIT THE GOLD FEE (PRO-RATED) AND THEN CHARGE THE $395
NO HARD INQUIRY THAT WAY

yeah i agree, i got mine with only 6 months credit history in 2005, in a year call them and tell them you want to cancel , then they offer you 30000 points to keep it ,,,say yes thank you .
This card is only worth the money if you travel a lot, if not just keep the gold.
It isnt even considered fancy anymore...if you trying to impress get the black one, but it will cost you$2500 and you only get an invitation if you spend over 250 k in a 12 months period.
