Credit Tips: Why Do Credit Card Companies Need a Physical Adress?

When applying for a credit card, the company always asks for a physical address and not a P.O. Box. Is there anyway around this? Since I get most of my mail at the box for security reasons.

With the 9/11 changes it’s a federal requirement to verify information.

I usually just wait until I am approved for a card and then I either call or go online and change the mailing address to my PO BOX.
