Post subject: Question about BT
This is probably a pretty dumb question, but here goes.
If I do a balance transfer, it won't close my account will it? I ask because I want to transfer a balance from an old credit card, but b/c it's my oldest, I don't want to close it. How can you make sure that if you transfer your balance, it stays open?

No one, other than yourself, can request closure of your account. Many have transferred entire balances without a problem.

A balance transfer is just a payment as far as the receiving bank is concerned. Making a payment doesn't close your account.
