Hi,
I'm new here, but have been reading nonstop for days! Lots of great advice! I have a few questions maybe someone could help with. I was just instantly approved for the One card from AmEx. I would have liked to have gotten the Blue, but read that the One card was easier to get. I am now feeling brave and thinking I might try for the Blue, but don't want to push it. I have a short credit history(7 mo), limited income and only a secured card from BofA, but PIF each month. Credit score is about 700. Any advice would be appreciated. I have been patient for 7 mo and don't want to overdo it and mess up what I am finally starting to build.
In the last week I have applied for the BofA/MBNA Rewards AmEx card, Citibank Visa Platinum, and Target Red (approved for Target, still waiting for answers on other 2).
BTW, MBNA pulled from EX upon app 5 days ago and they just did another pull from TU today. Is this a good or bad sign or does it mean nothing? Info is about the same on both, but less inq on TU. I hope the 2 inq are worth it. I don't know what it has done to my score, but I recently had 12 point drop in my EQ Fico for one new inq and I only had one other on there that was over a year old!
Does anyone know about the AmEx One card? How does the "no set limit" policy work? I'm assuming no reported limit won't help my credit much. Oh well, I'm really excited about getting it anyway!! It is definitely needed!
Sorry for the long post. Thanks in advance for your help!

I cant tell you much about amex besides that the no pre set limit does not mean much. You still are asigned a Exposure limit where with that card maybe around 5k. But as far as mbna goes that second pull they did could mean two things. First they believed that the experian report didnt provide them as much info as they nedded or thought that there was something else reporting to trans union for example an acount that has been open for a while that wasnt reporting to Experian. Which ofcourse would make them feel more confortable to approve you. Or they did that just to confirm the information matched and if they did you are approved. I have seen both of those things happen and this is 100% true Also I can gurantee you if you call 1800 421 2110 and ask for the credit department they will have the decision for you so hope this helps
