I just received an offer for a card that gives AAA members a 5% rebate on any purchase made at a gas pump that has a built-in credit card swipe integrated into the pump (any brand of gas — even discount brands).

When I find the offer (which I misplaced), I will post additional details.

I have that card, and it gives you a credit back on your statement of 5% every month. It definitely has to be the “pay at the pump” swipe version, though. MBNA runs the program, and they asked me a million questions before giving me it. The cash access checks are also at 0%, too. The rate on purchases is fixed at 7.99% . You can access the offer through the AAA website. I only got it for the 5% gas rebate.

I forgot to mention that one of the conditions is you have to spend 1.5X in regular purchases than what you spend in gas to get the rebate. So if you had $ 150. for gas one month, you’d have to have $ 225 in regular purchases, as well.

This is why I’m not a big fan of this card. And you don’t earn any rebates on the regular purchases, right?

I do know that they have different rebate structures for this card, so the OP may be referring to a different program.
