When Do Credit Card Purchases Post?

Post subject: Purchase on closing date.
If i purchased a large item on the closing date of my CC will it post on that statement or the next?

Odds are it will post on the next statement. But some merchants have instant systems in place and it could hit your statement the same day it's printed. Things like cash advances at the bank, for example, could post the same day.

Awesome. I just called American Express they said it would post on my next statement! I love my American Express Platinum!

interesting that amex told you that. i bought a camera flash yesterday at noon. hit my statement closing yesterday, as well. not a big deal, but i do time the different cards statements so i don'y have to pay them until the last minute...

I asked if it would post next statement. They checked it and they are like yes. They asked the price. I said roughly 2500. They put me on hold for id says 30secs. They are like yes you will be fine. I said id call that same day just to make sure and they are like ok but it would post next statement. =]

Just called Amex again to make sure.....they said to purchase it as late as i can but their is a strong possibilty it will post next statement.

I CAN'T SEE IT SHOWING UP IF YOU BUY IT LIKE AT 7pm or 8pm
They could have the lower "AVAILABLE BALANCE" show but NOT THE PURCHASE
We download charges (AT WORK) at 00:01am so I was told...
(only the PRE-AUTHORIZATION is instant...not the actual sale)
I COULD HAVE BEEN MIS-INFORMED THOUGH (wouldn't be the first time)

Im going to prolly get it 5 pm pst. or later
Costco closes at 6.
so thats 3 hrs ahead cause they said its est.
So id be good.
