Virtual Credit Cards and Gift Cards

Post subject: Virtual creditcard and giftcards/virtual gift cards?

Hello,

I have a couple of questions about these socalled virtual creditcards and giftcards.

I have heard of virtual creditcards but do virtual gift cards exist?
And can i purchase a single or a small package of virtual gift cards through some sort of way?

Virtual credit cards are used to protect your actual credit card number. I'm not sure what the benefit of a virtual gift card would be since once you're done with it, you don't need it any more. There are gift cards that you can buy online, like for Best Buy or Bloomingdales that can be redeemed in store as well as online.

So if i understand you correctly, virtual creditcards can only be given combined with a existing creditcard account?
I kind of doubt this so any more feedback would be helpfull.

Also it's a fact that gift cards exist but do virtual gift cards exist? Thus only the card details?

Virtual Gift cards DO NOT EXIST only a reall credit card can create a Virtual Card number and you can only do that with MBNA and Citi as far as I know You can set your limits and how long is good for so if it gets stolen on line they cant do nothing with it
